2. Planner and To Do: track work without another app
Planner handles team task boards and To Do handles personal task lists, both included, both synced across your devices. Many small teams pay for a separate project tool that does less.
3. Shared mailboxes: stop forwarding from a personal inbox
A shared mailbox like info@ or support@ lets several people monitor and reply from one address, with no extra license. It also means when someone leaves, the history stays and nothing is trapped in their personal inbox, which matters for the offboarding process.
4. SharePoint: one home for company files
Instead of files scattered across laptops and personal drives, SharePoint gives your business a central, permissioned, backed-up place for documents. It is the foundation for everyone finding the current version of anything.
5. Teams beyond chat: meetings, calls, and channels
Teams is not just a chat app. It hosts video meetings, can serve as your phone system, and organizes work into channels so conversations and files live together instead of buried in email.
6. Templates: stop rebuilding the same document
Save your quote, invoice, proposal, and letterhead as templates so nobody rebuilds them from scratch or works from an outdated copy. A small setup that saves time on every document afterward.

Turning features on is a project, not a scramble
The catch with 365 is that these features need to be configured, and configuring them badly (wrong permissions on SharePoint, a broken Conditional Access rule) causes its own problems. Turn them on deliberately, one at a time, with someone who knows the platform, or you trade one kind of friction for another.
